The Opportunity

We are currently seeking Support Workers to join our Child & Family Service team at Tennant Creek, working in our Residential Service. The Service runs 24hrs/7 days a week and the Support worker will need to be available to work a variety of shifts between the hours of 6:00 am until 6:00 pm supporting young children.

We are searching for active, passionate, dedicated and resilient support workers who have an understanding of the importance of high quality services, which meet the needs of the Children and Young People and our responsibilities under the Child Care and Protection Act and the Out Of Home Care Standards.

Support workers in our Residential Service are strong positive role models who are responsible for a wide range of duties including providing positive support in the following areas - emotional behavioural, health, incident management, personal care and hygiene, transport, education, community access, cooking and domestic duties which are performed in a safe, consistent, and a secure home. Support workers are responsible to help guide and support the Children and Young People to develop independent living skills while ensuring all of their day to day care needs are being met. This includes the implementation of clear routines, structure and positive behaviour, support practices and strategies

Essential Requirements

We are looking for people who are committed to being positive role models, are self-motivated and want to work for a values-based organisation whose solutions are leading edge. To be successful in this role you will have: 

  • Demonstrated experience working with children and youth and/or people with a disability in an accommodation service or individual support
  • A positive and solution focused approach as a team member
  • Full unrestricted NT drivers licence
  • First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Ochre Card
  • National Criminal history check clearance
