Lifestyle Solutions are seeking two energetic, compassionate and committed people to join the Child and Family Services team as Live in Carers in Tennant Creek, NT. In this role you will be providing support to young persons of school age. You will be working as part of a great Support network who are able to provide around the clock assistance to you in order to address the developmental needs of the young persons.
Live In Carers are strong positive role models who are responsible for a wide range of duties including providing positive support in the following areas - emotional behaviour, health, incident management, personal care and hygiene, transport, education, community access, cooking and domestic duties which are performed in a safe, consistent, and secure home. Live in Carers are responsible to help, guide and support the Children and Young People to develop independent living skills while ensuring all of their day to day care needs are being met. This includes the implementation of clear routines, structure and positive behaviour support practices and strategies.
What you will need to succeed in this role:
- Demonstrated experience working with children and youth and/or people with a disability in an accommodation service or individual support
- Have a positive attitude which accompanies your resilience and commitment
- Experience working in a therapeutic environment
- Possess a high standard of reporting and documentation
- A Current Driver’s License
Desirable but not essential for the role:
- Previous experience as a Live-in Carer
- Obtained a diploma or higher in relevant courses
